NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's tennis team, ranked #56 in the ITA rankings, ended Saturday (April 16) with a share of the 2022 Great Midwest regular season title.
With a 4-0 win over Hillsdale, Walsh ended conference play with a 5-1 record, and was tied with Findlay and Tiffin.
The #28th ranked team of Jakob Riglewski and Alex Medina won 6-2 in first doubles while Blas Ruiz and Luis Hernandez were 6-3 winners in third doubles. Walsh won the doubles point and led 1-0.
Dawson Drummond and Hernandez were winners in three set battles to push Walsh closer to the clinch point. Riglewski won 6-3, 6-1 over #13 ranked Brennan Cimpeanu for Walsh's fourth point.
Walsh is the third seed for the 2022 Great Midwest Tennis Championships in Owensboro, Kentucky. They will face Tiffin at 12:00 PM on Friday (April 22).
