ALLENDALE, MI: The Track and Field team took the distance group up to Allendale, MI to compete in the Grand Valley Big Meet this past weekend. The rest of the team took the week to rest up and start the preparation for the tune up meet next week and the conference meet the following week. Strong performances in stiff competition allowed for the Men's and Women's team to have PR's and multiple top finishes. Claire Rethman and Alyssa Stoner finished in the top parts of their sections and had top finishes. On the men's side, Mitchell Dunham and Xavier Foehl were a few of the top finishers.

On February 16th, the Track and Field team look to compete at the Akron "Al Campbell" Open at the University of Akron. 

FOR THE CAVS AT GRAND VALLEY:

· Claire Rethman- PR'd and finished 3rd in the Mile. Her time was 4:55.31, which is a Provo mark and puts her 49th in the nation!

· Alyssa Stoner- PR'd and finished 3rd in her heat of the 5000m. Her time was 17:51.07.

· Xavier Foehl- PR'd and finished 3rd in the 800m. His time was 1:53.45.

· Mitchell Dunham- PR'd and finished 2nd in his heat of the 5000m. His time was 14:24.32, which is a Provo mark and puts him 44th in the nation!

· Drew Monahan- PR'd and finished 5th in his heat of the 5000m. His time was 14.37.71.
