UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI & YOUNGSTOWN / ALLIANCE, OH: The 2025 - 2026 Indoor Track and Field season opened this past weekend! The Walsh Cavaliers have been training hard since August, finally making their debut at three different meets throughout the area. Walsh was represented at Saginaw Valley State, Youngstown State, and Mount Union! Tatum Miller and Colton Ferrucci highlighted the weekend's performances as both it NCAA Provo marks in their throwing events. 

The Maroon and Gold will return to the track this Friday at the University of Akron Open! 

AT SAGINAW (MULTIS)

• Joel Brown won the Men's Heptathlon 60m with a time of 7s. 
• Lara Hochdoeffer and Porter Smith competed in the Women's Pentathlon.

AT YOUNGSTOWN STATE (DISTANCE AND THROWS) 

• Brody Pumneo finished 4th in the 800m with a time of 1:55.36. He also finished 3rd in the Mile.
• Kayden Schoelles finished 2nd in the Mile with a time of 4:18.68.
• Tatum Miller and Maddie Swartz finished 5th and 6th in the Women's Weight Throw. They threw distances of 16.69m and 16.38m.
• Colton Ferrucci was a top finisher in the Men's Weight Throw with a 2nd place throw of 17.53m.

AT MOUNT UNION

• Tatum Miller hit an NCAA Provo mark of 17.31m in the weight throw.
• Colton Ferrucci hit his Provo mark of 18.89m in the men's weight throw.
• Kyla Miller saw a runner up finish in the 60m hurdles.
• Chiara Da Pra also finished runner up in the high jump.
• Quade Harris won the 500m with a time of 1:09.41.
• Joel Brown won the men's 60m hurdles, 8.36s. Joel also earned a runner up finish in the pole vault.
