| Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 MELBOURNE, FL: The Walsh Cavalier Softball team competed last week in the Space Coast Spring Games. Held in Melbourne, Florida, the Maroon and Gold faced tough Midwest region competition as well as top South region opponents. Over the week, Walsh faced Saginaw Valley, Ferris State, Holy Family, Davenport, Barry, University of Illinois Springfield and #15 Nova Southeastern. The week of tough competition was capped off in exciting fashion as the Cavs defeated the #15 team in the country, Nova Southeastern. In the 3-2 victory, freshman, Maci Smythe dominated in the final three innings, walking none and only allowing four hits. This victory highlighted the dominant week for Smythe as she had a 0.25 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 27.2 innings pitched. To highlight another strong performance in the circle for Walsh was Olivia Betson throwing a no-hitter vs Holy Family College in a 9-1 victory. 

The Cavaliers will now move into conference play this weekend as they make the short trip to Painesville, Ohio to face Lake Erie College. The Sunday double header begins at 1pm.

• Chloe Sayre earned the win pitching all seven innings, striking out three.

• Riley Grimm accounted for two of Walsh's five hits while McKenna Voiers tallied the RBI. 
• Maci Smythe mowed down seven batters and only allowed 1 earned run.

• Lindsey Leeds struck out four in relief.

• Riley Grimm, Kaylee Nolte, and Laney Ferrance each had timely RBI's in the victory. 
• Splitting time in the circle was Olivia Betson and Maci Smythe. Betson struck out two and Smythe earned the win, striking out three and allowing no runs to be scored.
