WOOSTER, OH AND HIGH POINT, NC: After a short break, the outdoor season continued for the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams! Despite the weather in Wooster, the teams competed hard through the snow and cold. After a long travel, the group that traveled to High Point showed up against some tough Division I competition. For the Men's team, Mitchell Dunham,
Xavier Foehl, and
Brody Pumneo had standout finishes. For the Women's team,
Claire Rethman dominated in the 1500m.
Walsh will be back in action this upcoming weekend in two different places. They will be at Mount Union, competing in the John Homon Open on Saturday, April 13th. The distance team will be competing at the Bucknell Bison Classic on the same day.
FOR THE CAVALIER MEN
- Spiro Papas- PR'd and finished 2nd in the 5000m. His time was 15:10.41.
- Kyle Woods- Finished 3rd in the 5000m. His time was 15:15.68.
- Micah Gremling- Finished 5th in the 100m. His time was 10.55s.
- Brody Pumneo- PR'd and finished 3rd in the 800m. His time was 1:51.86, which is the outdoor freshman record!
- Xavier Foehl- Finished 4th in the 1500m. His time was 3:56.65.
- Drew Monahan- Finished 4th in the 5000m. His time was 14:48.60.
- Mitchell Dunham- Finished 2nd in the 3000m Steeplechase. His time was 9:14.22.
- Anthony Toskin- PR'd and finished 5th in the 3000m Steeplechase. His time was 9:27.78.
FOR THE CAVALIER WOMEN
- Claire Rethman- PR'd and finished 2nd in the 1500m. Her time was 4:35.00.
- Claire Martin- PR'd and set a new school record in the Long Jump at 5.81m or 19'0.75".
