HILLSDALE, MI: The Walsh Track and Field programs traveled to Hillsdale College for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships this past week. In the cold and rainy conditions, four Cavs shined earning podium finishes. Joel Brown was the highest placer for the Maroon and Gold as he finished runner up in the Long Jump. His runner up jump was 7.56m. Earning 3rd place finishes was Mackenzie Cutlip, Lara Hochdoerffer, and David D'Altorio. Cutlip threw 37.06m in the Javelin, Hochdoerffer earned 4501 points in the Heptathlon, and D'Altorio ran the 5k in 14:37. 

Overall the Walsh Men finished 7th out of 11 teams while the Women finished 6th out of 12. 

The Maroon and Gold will compete in various "Last Chance Meets" this week to improve their marks in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships.

Joel Brown is currently ranked 8th in DII in the Decathlon and 12th in the Long Jump.
