NORTH CANTON, OH: Despite the frigid temperatures, baseball season is quickly approaching. Today, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference released their preseason coaches poll. For the second straight year, the Walsh Cavaliers landed the top spot in the South Division just above Kentucky Wesleyan.
Last season, the Cavs won the South Division and return a large group including 7 starters from last season's divisional championship. Head Coach,
Tim Mead, will rely on senior fielders
Brodey Acres,
Andrew Morse,
Josh Algarin,
Eli Sutton,
Brandon Hire, and
Mason Stoldt to lead the team in this year's campaign. The Cavs have a good mix of experience and newcomers on the bump, an area where they will look to improve from last season.
The Men will open their season in just under one month against Fairmont State University. The home opener, on the corner of Market and East Maple, is set for Tuesday, March 17
th against Point Park.
