NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh Cavalier Men's Lacrosse team is gearing up for their 2026 season which is set to start on Saturday, February 7th. On Tuesday afternoon, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference released the Preseason Coaches Poll where the Maroon and Gold landed 2nd in the voting. Walsh finished G-MAC runner up last year, falling to Seton Hill in the championship game, 20-5.
The Men's Lacrosse program has found success in the past two years under Head Coach,
David Salter. The team had their best season in program history last year, finishing with a 10-8 record and 6-3 in the G-MAC. Honorable Mention All-American and All-Conference First Team player,
James Sternberg, returns for the Maroon and Gold. Sternberg holds four school records including most points in a season, most goals in a season, most assists in a game, and most assists in a season.
Walsh has brought in 15 freshman and a DI transfer goalie for the 2026 campaign.
The Cavaliers play their first three games on the road and will have their home opener on 2/18 at 11am!
