NORTH CANTON, OH: Despite falling to the Lake Erie College Storm last week, Walsh Men's Basketball still found themselves inside the NABC DII Coaches Poll rankings. The Cavs sit at 22nd this week after climbing to 15th last week. 15th was the highest ranking in the programs NCAA era.
With the last stretch of the regular season looming, Walsh will take their final road trip of the year as they head to Thomas More and Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend. The Men have defeated both teams previously this season. The Saints of Thomas More gave the Cavs one of their closer games this year, winning 80-76 on January 29th. The Kentucky Wesleyan win was no test as the Cavs won, 102-66.
Looking at the conference picture, the Maroon and Gold are still in 1st place with Ashland one game behind. The important rankings for the conference tournament in the point rating system. As of 2/7, Walsh held a .13 lead over Lake Erie for the #1 seed. Walsh plays Ashland, at Ashland, on 2/26.
