Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) – Despite a strong start to the game, Walsh couldn't keep up with Findlay who went on to win Friday evening's contest by a score of 20-6 at Donnell Stadium. The Cavaliers (3-8, 0-3) were within one goal for the first 15 minutes before the Oilers (5-5, 3-0) distanced themselves midway through the first half.
Findlay opened the game with a pair of goals by Kyra Bradley before Emma Armour (Fr., Charlotte, NC/Charlotte Catholic) put the Cavs on the scoreboard on an assist from Maria Nobile (So., Westerville, OH/Olentangy Orange) with 24:53 left in the opening half. The Oilers added another goal before Lane Brunkala (Fr., Mentor, OH/HS) added a second score for Walsh to make the score 3-2 at the 22:57 mark of the first period.
The Oilers began to pick up steam from there, however, as they scored the next six goals. Despite goals from Brunkala, Amanda Hodel (Fr., Cincinnati, OH/Lakota West), and Aly Jajack (So., North Canton, OH/Hoover), Walsh could get no closer than six the rest of the way.
In the second half, Findlay shut out the Cavs until another Jajack goal with 1:14 left set up the final score.
The Cavs return to action for their final home game of the season on Sunday. They will take on the Alderson Broaddus Battlers with the opening draw set for 12 p.m.
