(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - Walsh dropped a mutual conference opener to visiting McKendree by a score of 23-6 at Vasco Field Thursday evening. The Cavaliers are 3-6 overall while the Bearcats, newly associate members of the GLIAC, improve to 8-1 overall.

It was difficult for the Cavs to generate much offense as they turned the ball over 19 times on the day. McKendree also held a 20-10 advantage on draw controls and 23-11 lead in ground balls.

Walsh did make the score 2-1 after Maria Nobile (So., Westerville, OH/Olentangy Orange) scored with 21:40 left in the first half, but McKendree rattled off the next six goals.

The Cavs had trouble stopping Morgan Cremen who had a big game with six goals and one assist to lead the Bearcats.

Walsh will play in its penultimate home game of the regular season on Saturday as it entertains Grand Valley State. It is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start.
