(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Jenna Head (So., Mantua, OH/Crestwood) and Casi Rohr (Sr., Massillon, OH/Perry/Toledo) had big days as they helped Walsh sweep Northwood by scores of 5-1 and 2-0. The Cavaliers are now 13-4 overall and 8-1 in the GLIAC. The Timberwolves drop to 6-17 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Head had a monster first game as she brought in all five runs for the Cavs. Three of them came on a home run in the first inning on a long shot to left center. The fourth came on a walk with the bases loaded and the fifth came on a single to center in the sixth. Sam Troxell (Sr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH/HS/YSU) scored the final two runs for Walsh.

Rohr was a strikeout shy of double-digits. She allowed just the one run on three hits with two talks.

Rohr was the story of the game for the bottom end of the twin bill as she shutout the Timberwolves. This time she hit the double digits in strikeouts with 10 and allowed just three hits. She is now 9-3 on the season and has allowed just five runs, two earned, on 15 hits with 58 strikeouts in her last 35 innings of work.

Northwood threatened in the bottom of the first but left a runner on third and was picked off at first base to end the inning. Rohr made two big heads-up plays as she threw out Northwood's Ashley Lynn at home on a fielder's choice. Andria Gietl, who reached first on the fielder's choice, was then thrown out at first on a 2-1-4-3 put out.

Walsh wasted little time taking advantage in the next frame as Abby Reusser (So., Orrville, OH/HS) hit a two-RBI single to score Reagan Rito (So., Beloit, OH/West Branch) and Head. They were the game's only runs.

The Cavs now are now on the road for their first true away games. Ohio Dominican will entertain Walsh in a doubleheader on Wednesday before the Cavs head up to Michigan to take on Wayne State and Saginaw Valley next weekend.
