(DETROIT) – Walsh fell the No. 25 Wayne State by a score of 47-14 at Adams Field on Saturday afternoon in GLIAC action. The Cavaliers are now 0-7 on the year while the Warriors improved to 6-1 with the victory.

The Cavaliers held the Warriors' offense in check for the majority of the first half and came within a touchdown at 14-7 when Mitchell Ault scored a touchdown by punching it in from a yard out with 3:17 left in the second quarter. It capped a lengthy 18-play drive, Walsh's longest drive of the season, for 73 yards.

Unfortunately for Walsh, Wayne State was able to answer with a touchdown of its own just before the end of the half and carried a 21-7 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, the Warriors shutout the Cavaliers offense. The lone score for the Cavs came in the third quarter when Alex Jones sacked Warriors' quarterback Donovan Zezula for a loss of six yards and Nick King recovered and raced 74 yards to the house. That made the score 41-14 with 2:18 to go in the period.

Ault completed 16-of-27 passes on the day for 145 yards under center on the day. Antonio Tate was his favorite target as he caught seven passes for 67 yards. Tate also had three kickoff returns for 67 yards to give him 134 all-purpose yards on the day.

The Cavaliers return home next weekend to take on rival Malone for Homecoming. The Battle for the Bankert-Gallagher Memorial Trophy is set to start at 6 p.m. from North Canton Memorial Stadium.
