(FINDLAY, Ohio) – The Walsh women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Findlay in GLIAC action by a score of 21-9 today at Armstrong Field Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 2-3 overall on the season and are 0-3 in the conference. The Oilers improved to 6-2 overall and remained unbeaten in GLIAC play at 3-0.

The Oilers controlled the game from the start with the first four goals. Lane Brunkala eventually got the Cavs on the board with a free position shot to make the score 4-1 with 24:18 to go in the first. Sam Paulson added a goal on another free position shot just over a couple of minutes later. The Oilers then went on a big run before Brunkala closed the first half scoring on another free position shot.

Walsh matched up well in the second half as the Cavs split the stanza 6-6 with Findlay. The Maroon and Gold also ended the game on a strong note with the final four scores on goals by Jenny Spragg, Maria Nobile, Amanda Hodel and Aly Jajack.

Brunkala led the team with three goals as she added another score near the start of the second. Jajack scored another to finish with two in the game.

Walsh fared well on the free position shots as it scored on five of six attempts.

The Cavaliers now return home to start a five-game home stand against Ursuline this Wednesday. The non-conference matchup with the Arrows is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
