Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

(CLERMONT, Fla.) – Walsh was defeated in both of its softball games today as it fell 5-0 to Quincy before a narrow 4-3 loss to Southern Indiana at Hancock Park. The Cavaliers are now 3-3 on the young season. The Hawks improved to 5-4 and the Screaming Eagles jumped to 11-5.

The Cavs faced a stiff defense in the opener against Quincy and only generated four hits and were unable to get past first base. Ryan Kuula took the loss to fall to 1-2 as she went the distance with six strikeouts.

In the second game, Walsh scored three runs in the opening inning and carried a 3-2 lead into the final frame, but Southern Indiana scored a pair of runs on three consecutive hits for the walk-off win.

Kesley Putman scored the first run on a wild pitch after she stole third. Bondoni was next to score as she advanced to second on that same wild pitch and was brought in on a double by Jenna Head. Head eventually came around on a single by Olivia Pifer.

Pifer took the loss despite a strong effort in the circle where she struck out eight batters. She falls to 2-2 on the season.

The Cavaliers return to action tomorrow with a single game against Wayne State of Nebraska. First pitch from the Sunshine State is set for 1 p.m.
