Women's Lacrosse Falls On Road At UIndy

Box Score

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Walsh dropped its first of two road games this weekend by a score of 19-10 to Indianapolis in GLIAC action Friday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 3-8 overall and are 0-8 in the conference while the Greyhounds improved to 6-7 overall and 4-4 in the GLIAC.

UIndy started quick out of the gate with a goal on a man-up opportunity in the first minute of the game. That sparked a run of four consecutive goals as the Greyhounds jumped out to a 7-1 lead.

The Cavaliers responded with four of the next five goals thanks to scores by Sarah Dankowksi, Sam Paulson, Lane Brunkala and Emma Armour to cut the deficit to 8-5. Indianapolis soon caught fire again however, as it went on a 6-0 run with the final three goals of the first half and the first three scores of the second.

Armour finished the day with three goals and an assist for four points. Jenny Spragg and Dankowski each had two goals for the Cavs.

Mikaela Faus recorded eight saves on the day in just over a half of action. Meghan Skrpka came on in relief and made six.

The Cavs will remain on the road and take on McKendree this Sunday at 5 p.m.
