Box Score 1 (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh was swept in its final doubleheader of the season with 5-0 and 9-1 defeats to Tiffin on Wednesday afternoon. The Cavaliers fall to 18-25 overall on the season and are 9-13 in the conference. The Dragons improved to 22-16-1 overall and 7-9-1 in the GLIAC.
The Cavaliers are now ninth in the conference standings heading into the final weekend of games. The top eight teams make the playoffs.
In the opener, the Dragons pounded out 10 hits en route to the 5-0 win. Meanwhile the Cavs' bats were quiet as they were limited to three hits.
In the nightcap, Walsh was the first to light up the scoreboard when Riley Kiesling singled down the right field line to score Alaina Manor.
The Dragons answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame and exploded with five more in the third. They scored two more in the fifth and ended the game with walk-off single.
The Cavaliers head back on the road for their final games of the regular season at Ferris State on Friday and Grand Valley State on Saturday.
