Cavs Split Day in Florida

(CLERMONT, Fla.) – Walsh splits their day at the NTC Softball complex to move to 5-8 on the season.  The Cavs played four games in under 24 hours.

Walsh defeated Cedarville 4-3 early Tuesday morning in the first of two games. Walsh took an earlier deficit going down three in the first inning.

Becca Bode singled to shortstop in the bottom of the second to score Danni Murtaugh. Another single by Bode brought in Kendra Moore and Yasmine Rivera to tie up the game and send it to extra innings. Bode went 2-of-3 on the game with three RIBs.

Abby Reusser scored the winning run on a throwing error in the bottom of the eighth.

Walsh fell to Missouri-St. Louis 5-1 in their second game of the day.

The Tritons took the early lead scoring two runs in the bottom of the first. They extended their lead to 5-0 by the end of the fifth inning.

Kelsey Putman singled to center field in the top of the seventh to bring home Abby Reusser for the Cavs lone run of the game. Olivia Pifer had five strikeouts on the game.

The Cavs return to the field Wednesday night against Minnesota St. Moorhead.
