Cavs Win Program-Best Seventh Game

Box Score

(ELKINS, W.Va.) – The records continue to come for the Walsh women's lacrosse team as it defeated future conference rival Davis & Elkins 21-6 on Saturday afternoon. Not only did the Cavaliers (7-2) set a new program record for wins in a season, but the 21 goals matched a program best set earlier this season.

After allowing the first goal of the game, the Maroon and Gold ransacked the Senators with a 10-0 run over the next 17 minutes. Jenny Spragg started the run on an assist from Maria Noble, who assisted four of the first five goals. The one she didn't assist on was a free-position shot she took and scored on five minutes into the game. Nobile also scored the last goal in the run to give Walsh a 10-1 lead.

Aly Jajack's scored the penultimate goal in that rally and was just getting her engines ready as she followed up with four more goals, all of which came before the half, for game-high honors. She added two assists for seven points. Emma Armour added four goals on the day.

Mikaela Faus picked up the win between the pipes with five saves on 13 shots faced. Jenny Spragg added give ground balls and three draws in the win.

Overall Walsh controlled most of the game and outshot the Senators 38-13.

The Cavaliers will return to action this Friday when they host McKendree in the GLIAC opener.
