Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – It was Senior Day for the Walsh women's lacrosse team, but it didn't go as well as it hoped as it was defeated by Findlay 24-14 on Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 7-6 on the season and 0-4 in the GLIAC, while the Oilers improved to 7-7 overall and 2-2 within the conference.
Walsh's first goal was a special one as senior Maria Nobile became the first player in program history to reach the 100-goal plateau. She did so on an unassisted strike at the 26:28 mark of the first half to tie the game at 1-1.
It was also the beginning of a 4-0 run by the Cavs with another goal scored by Nobile sandwiched between scores by Sarah McCormick and Emma Armour. However, Findlay responded and closed the half on a 16-4 run and never looked back.
McCormick and Armour led the Cavs with four goals each. Jenny Spragg added two.
Walsh will play its final home match of the season this Sunday against Tiffin.
