Cavaliers Clipped By Lakers

(ALLENDALE, Mich.) – The Walsh women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-4 to Grand Valley State in GLIAC play on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers fell to 7-8 on the season and 0-6 in the conference. The Lakers improved to 6-8 and 5-1 in the same categories.

The Cavs opened up the game with the first goal as Emma Armour found the back of the net just 4:39 into the game. After the Lakers tied the game shortly after, Sam Paulson gave the Cavs the lead once again with an unassisted score.

Grand Valley then went on an 8-0 run to take control of the game. Aly Jajack scored on a free position shot and Jenny Spragg scored on an assist from Maria Nobile to make the score 9-4, but Walsh wouldn't recover.

Mikaela Faus made 15 saves in goal on 47 shots faced.

The Cavaliers will conclude the season tomorrow on the road at Northern Michigan. Opening draw is scheduled for 6 p.m.
