Softball Comes Up Short at Charleston

(CHARLESTON, W.Va.) – The Walsh softball team was swept by a tough Charleston team by scores of 4-0 and 9-1 in five innings in the Mountain State's capital this afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 7-19 on the season. The Golden Eagles improved to 23-10.

In the opener, Charleston scored single runs in the first and third, and added two more in the fourth. On the opposite end, Walsh was limited to two hits.

The second game saw a quick start by the Eagles with six runs in the opening frame. Walsh added its lone run of the day in the top of the second when Becca Bode doubled to right center to score Abbey Yaugher, who reached earlier on a single to right field.

Walsh returns to conference play this Saturday when it hosts Ohio Dominican. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
