(ROSEMONT, Ill.)- The Cavaliers split on day two of the Rosemont Invitational. Walsh (2-2) drops game one in Chicago. A dominated pitching performance by William Jewel (7-0) propelled the Cardinals to a 4-0 victory over the Cavaliers.

Walsh was held to two hits on the day. With two outs in the third, Yasmine Rivera reach with a bunt single to third. Leah Roten led off the fourth inning with a double to left center, but the Cavaliers were not able to move her around.

Olivia Pifer (1-1) started in the circle recording five strike outs and scattering seven hits across five innings.

In the nightcap, the Cavaliers came out on top 6-3 against Lindenwood (4-3). Walsh took advantage of Lindenwood's mistakes early to get on the board. Alaina Manor started off the game with a single. Manor and Leah Roten scored off error off the bat of Jessie Rock. Rock came around to score after another error coming off the bat of Brooke Six.

Walsh took the lead in the fourth off the bat of Yasmine Rivera scoring Rebekah Hoffee. Rock was able to add another run driving in Manor with a single up the middle. Rachel Rittelman gave the Cavaliers some insurance in fifth after singling to left bringing in Six.

Pifer (2-1) came in in relief of Ryan Kuula in the third inning picking up the victory.

The Maroon and Gold will be traveling to Myrtle Beach for the Fastpitch Dream Spring Classic beginning March 3.
