Box Score 2 (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) - The Walsh University softball team faced the Alderson Broaddus Battlers this afternoon (April 13) at the Walsh Softball Complex in a conference double-header. The Battlers came up on top in both games, despite a late run from the Cavs in the second game. Walsh dropped the first game 8-0 and the second 9-5.
Game One:
- Katleyn Kennedy earned the first hit of the day for the Cavs, as she singled through the left side
- Abbey Yaugher singled through the left side
- Jessie Rock singled, advanced to second on an error
- Emma Bobey singled through the right side
- Alison Harper pitched the first five innings, Ryan Kuula relieved her, striking out four batters
- Caitlin Winkler led the Battlers with three hits and two RBI
- Emily Rhodes pitched a complete game, earning the win for Alderson Broaddus
Game Two:
- Rock with two hits including a double, two RBI
- Katelyn Loughman and Alina Molette each with two hits and one RBI
- Bobey and Yazmin Rivera each with two hits
- Taylor Yoder with a double, RBI
- Shelbi Gregg and Ellie Smith shared time in the circle
- Brianna Burger led the Battlers with two homeruns and four RBI
- Winkler moved to the circle, earning the win for Alderson Broaddus
Tomorrow's previously scheduled double-header versus Ashland has been postponed due to weather. The Cavs will head to Ohio Valley on Friday (April 19) for a double-header starting at 3:00 PM.
