Box Score ROCHESTER, New York - The Walsh Cavaliers women's lacrosse team kicked off the 2021 season on Friday (Feb. 26) afternoon with a road contest against the #24 Roberts Wesleyan RedHawks. Walsh attempted a second-half rally from a 9-2 deficit but fell 15-10.

The short story: Walsh was outscored in the first half 9-2 as Chloe Tatlow and Kendra Cowen-Tripp scored goals for the Cavaliers on free-position shots. Coming out of halftime, Melinda Maers added two goals with Cowen-Tripp scoring the third goal on a 3-0 Cavaliers run in the first seven minutes. After three straight goals, Walsh answered on a Grace Andreski goal. Kendra Cowen-Tripp scored her third goal of the game before Hannah McFeeters tallied the final three goals of the game. The Cavaliers outscored the RedHawks 8-6 in the second half to pull within five goals.
