Box Score 2 NORTH CANTON, OH- The Cavaliers completed a sweep over Wheeling University Sunday, March 14th. The two wins pushed the Cavs over the .500 win mark, making their overall record 7-5.

GAME ONE
In game one of the series, Walsh outscored the Cardinals 10-3. Both teams were tied at one heading into the third inning. A Jessie Rock homerun in the bottom of the third, allowed the Cavaliers to extend their lead by three. Walsh maintained the lead for the remainder of the contest as three other starters recorded RBIs. Emma Bobey and Sarah Moats both had two RBIs a piece. Leftfielder Katelyn Loughman singled in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 10-3.
Pitcher Sara Gockenbach pitched all seven innings and recorded three strikeouts and allowing only six hits.
The Cardinals were able to score early in the first inning on an unearned run by Anna Florczak. Hadley Bennett doubled to center field at the top of the the fourth to cut the Cavalier lead to 2. Florczak would go on to hit another RBI at the top of the fifth, allowing the Cardinals to score their third and final run of the game.
Both Abby Bumbico and Madison Macy each pitched three innings. Bumbico threw for two strikeouts, while Macy recorded one.
The Cavaliers outhit the the Cardinal 12-6.
GAME TWO
Walsh came out strong in the second game as an Emma Bobey RBI in the bottom of the first allowed Sarah Moats to score, putting the Cavs up 1-0. Six different Cavaliers would record an RBI to help make the final score 11-3. Jessie Rock recorded another two homeruns, making her the leader in homeruns in school history at 23 for her career. Kalin Kovach also hit a homerun in the bottom of the fourth, which extended Walsh's lead 8-1. Sarah Moats, Riley Grimm, and Clare Mewhinney also each recorded RBIs.
At the mound, pitcher Emily Pratt completed the game in six innings, allowing eight hits and three runs.
For the Cardinals, Cassi Roman led in hits at three, with two RBIs. Taylor Hradek also totaled one RBI on the day in the top of the sixth.
Three pitching changes were made for Wheeling during game two as Jenee Brodeur, Aubrie Lafferty, and Jamie Anderson each took the mound for the Cardinals. Brodeur pitched three innings and recorded five total strikeouts. Lafferty and Anderson pitched one inning a piece before the Cavaliers scored at the bottom of the sixth and ended the game.
