Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's lacrosse team bounced back in a big way following the season opener as the Cavaliers stormed the University of Charleston Golden Eagles on Saturday (March 6) afternoon at Larry Staudt Field. Walsh improved to 1-1 on the season with a 19-7 win in the home opener.

The short story: Walsh showed their offensive prowess throughout the contest. Walsh struck first on a goal from Kendra Cowen-Tripp, assisted by Ellen Lawrence in the opening five minutes. Charleston quickly answered to tie the game at one a minute later. Walsh rallied off seven straight goals in an 13 minute period with Hannah McFeeters, Cowen-Tripp (two), Melinda Maers (two, both assisted by Lawrence), Chloe Tatlow and Lindsay Hindman all scoring goals as Walsh took an 8-1 with 10:44 left in the first half. Charleston scored three goals around a Emily Atwood goal as Walsh led 9-4 at halftime. Lawrence and McFeeters scored in the first minute of the second half as Walsh pushed the lead to 11-4. After two Golden Eagles goals, Walsh went on a 6-0 spurt in 15 minutes as the running clock commenced. Tatlow, McFeeters, Hindman, Kaytlyn Tokar, Atwood and Lawrence all scored on the run. Morgan Miller and Lawrence closed out the scoring in the final six minutes for the Cavaliers.
