TIFFIN, OHIO- The Walsh University Women's Lacrosse team has something to celebrate as the regular season comes to an end. For the first time in program history, the Women's Lacrosse team is regular season G-MAC Champions after defeating Tiffin on Sunday(May 2). This historic win would lock in the Cavaliers to be the #1 overall seed in the conference tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

• From the 24 minute mark and on the Cavaliers would go on an offensive flurry connecting on 9 total goals in the first half alone.
• Emily Atwood would connect on 3 goals in the first half. One goal was unassisted while the other two came from the help of teammates Hannah McFeeters and Kendra Cowen-Tripp.
• Melinda Maers and Lindsay Hindman would tally two goals each for the Cavs in the first.
• Hannah McFeeters would also add an unassisted goal in the middle of the first to put one more on the board for the Cavs
• The start of the second half was no different as Walsh's offensive momentum continued. The Maroon and Gold went on to score 7 unanswered goals in their pursuit to defeating the Dragons for a second time this season.
• Lindsay Hindman came out sticks a blazing in the second half to add 3 more goals for the Cavs. 
• Melinda Maers would throw two more goals up on the board in the second half. 
• Hindman, Maers and Atwood would lead the Cavs with 5 goals a piece for the game.
• Senior Hannah McFeeters could be found all over the field on offense leading the Cavs with 6 assits on the day. 

The Maroon and Gold will host the 2021 G-MAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament at Larry Staudt field with games beginning Thursday May 6th. The Championship game is set for Saturday night at 5pm.
