Box Score 2 NORTH CANTON, OH- The Walsh University Cavaliers broke out the bats in their home opener sweep of Edinboro. The Cavaliers won 8-0 in the first game and 14-6 in the second game behind 28 total hits.
Score: Game 1- Walsh 8, Edinboro 0; Game 2- Walsh 14, Edinboro 6

GAME ONE (W 8-0)
- Brooklyn Hellman, Jessie Rock, and Emily Allphin all recorded hits in the bottom of the first to put the Cavs ahead 3-0. Rock and Allphin had one RBI a piece while Hellman hit a triple down the left field line.
- Walsh extended their lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the third. Brooklyn Hellman scored on another Jessie Rock RBI to right center. Rock scored an unearned run to make the score 5-0 heading into the fourth inning.
- McKenna Voiers hit a double to right field in the bottom of the sixth. With a runner on second, Kaylee Nolte struck with her first collegiate homerun to make the final score 8-0.
- Sara Gockenbach improved to 3-2 on the year as she pitched all six innings and threw five strikeouts
GAME TWO (W 14-6)
- Edinboro struck first as they recorded two hits and scored one run to take the lead 1-0 in the top of the first
- Walsh rallied in the bottom of the first behind a Katelyn Loughman RBI double to right field to tie the score 1-1. Emma Bobey singled to right field to send Loughman home as the Cavs took the lead 2-1. Sarah Cantley,Katelyn Kennedy, and Ashley Zgodzinsk recorded one hit a piece to extend the Cavalier lead 4-1 heading into the second inning
- Macie Loparo hit a solo homer to center field in the bottom of the second
- Loughman, after advancing to second base on her second double of the day, scored on an Emma Bobey RBI single to center field
- Up 6-1, Walsh scored an additional eight runs to make the final score 14-6.
- Pitcher Alison Harper improved to 1-2 on the season
- Harper and Sarah Cantley each threw one strikeout a piece
Walsh begins conference play Saturday, March 25th at Kentucky Wesleyan.
