NORTH CANTON,OH- The Walsh University Cavaliers won their first conference game of the season on Sunday (March 27th) against the Ashland University Eagles. Rachel Black scored four times with two assists in the win.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

• Walsh jumped to a 4-0 before the Eagles scored at the 5:08 minute mark of the first quarter
• Eight different Cavaliers scored in the win, with Rachel Black leading the way at four goals
• Isabella Kelty, Grace Santee, Ellen Lawrence, and Melinda Maers recorded a pair of goals each
• Halle Kotulock, Grace Andreski, Hannah McFeeters, and Katie Coomes finished off the balanced attack with one goal each
• Isabella Kelty and Rachel Black dished out two assists a piece
• G-MAC Defensive Athlete of the Week Kathleen Mendenhall recorded six saves on 11 shots on goal 
• Mendenhall and Rachel Black each picked up a game-high four ground balls
• The Cavaliers were successful on 21 of 22 clears and forced the Eagles to 17 turnovers

FOR THE EAGLES:

• Natalie Sonntag and Cora Wilson scored a pair of goals for the Eagles
• Wilson also picked up a game-high four groundballs 
• #23 Cassidy Becker recorded one goal on the day
• Goalie Jillian Rekulak tabbed seven saves
