NORTH CANTON, OH- The Walsh University Cavaliers were defeated Saturday (April 2nd) by the Findlay Oilers. Sarah Moats and four hits on the day and Jessie Rock added three hits and a homerun. 

Score: Game One Walsh 4 Findlay 6, Game Two Walsh 5 Finday 13

Records: Walsh 6-11 (2-3), Findlay 18-9 (2-1)

Location: Walsh Softball Complex (North Canton, Ohio)

GAME ONE (L, 4-6):

• Walsh jumped to a 2-0 start in the bottom of the first as Sarah Moats, McKenna Voiers, and Jessie Rock each recorded hits. Rock hit an RBI single to send Voiers home while Moats scored on an error by the catcher.
• After Findlay tied the score in the top of the second, Walsh answered with a Sarah Moats RBI triple to left field.
• Jessie Rock hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the third inning to put the Cavs ahead 4-2
• The Oilers went on to score four additional runs to make the final score 6-4
• Pitcher Sarah Cantley threw two strikeouts on the day

GAME TWO (L 5-13):

• The Oilers took the lead first as they scored two runs in the first inning
• Walsh answered as Sarah Moats scored on a sacrifice fly to put the Cavs within one
• Down 7-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Jessie Rock advanced to second on a double to center field. McKenna Voiers hit an RBI double to left field to make the score 7-3 heading into the fifth
• Findlay went on to score one run in the sixth inning and five in the seventh 
• Kalin Kovach and Sarah Moats had one hit each in the bottom of the seventh inning. With a runner on first, Kovach hit a double to center field to advance baserunners to second and third. Sarah Moats hit a two-run RBI single to left field to make the final score 13-5
• Olivia Betson and Alison Harper pitched a combined four strikeouts.
