OWENSBORO, Kentucky – For the 2022 Great Midwest Outdoor Track & Field Championships, it was a wet and rainy week that was completed in Walsh bringing home a sixth place finish as a team.
Behind three G-MAC Champions and 15 top eight finishes, Walsh tallied 89 points as a unit.
Ndidiamaka Anaraodo was the G-MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Meet as she totaled 22 points between the Shot Put, Discus Throw and Hammer Throw events. She was the G-MAC Champion in the Shot Put, where she jumped to second in the country with a 16.25 meter throw.
Alexa Leppelmeier tallied two G-MAC titles in the 1500 Meter Run and the 3000 Meter Steeplechase. In the 3000 Steeplechase, Leppelmeier paced the field by nearly 20 seconds and ran the 2nd fastest time in G-MAC history and the fastest time at the G-MAC Championships.
