Box Score ERIE, PA- The Walsh University Women's Lacrosse team were wrapped up in a back and forth battle with the Lakers from Mercyhurst on Saturday (Feb. 25). The Cavaliers came up short, 11-12, and head back to North Canton 0-2 on the start of their season.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Three Cavaliers put points on the board in the first quarter of the game.
- Rachel Black, Lindsay Hindman and Carly King all connected on to the back of the net.
- Black and King's goals were unassisted, while Hindman scored off a pass from Kathleen Coomes.
- In the second quarter, the Cavs struggled more offensively, only reaching the net twice.
- A goal by Grace Santee assisted by Isabella Kelty and an unassisted goal from Kathleen Coomes had the Cavs heading into halftime down 5-9.
- A third quarter push outscoring the Lakers helped put life back into the Cavalier offense.
- Two unassisted goals early in the third from Carly King and Melinda Maers had the Cavs down only three.
- An answered goal by the Lakers would have the Cavaliers offense shift gears and head down field ready to shoot.
- An assist from Isabella Kelty gave Melinda Maers her second goal on the day.
- Carly King fired one into the back of the net to have the Cavs down 2.
- A late goal in the third from Lindsay Hindman assisted by Grace Santee had the Cavs down two heading into the final quarter.
- Two more goals from Hindman, one assisted by Chloe Tatlow, had the Cavs only down 1 with a minute and a half to play.
- The Laker defense was able to hold the Cavs off for a final score of 12-13.
- Mallory Miller snagged 5 ground balls and Lindsay Hindman secured 5 on the day.
- Kathleen Mendenhall recorded 10 total saves for the Maroon and Gold.
