Box Score NORTH CANTON, OH: The wet and windy conditions were not ideal for the 2023 Women's Lacrosse home opener but that didn't stop the Cavaliers from securing the third win of the season. Coming off a thrilling double overtime game vs IUP, the Cavaliers had another tight contest vs visiting Davenport. Davenport, 0-4 coming in, did not back down to the reigning G-MAC Champs. Although the Cavs scored the first three goals, the game was eventually all tied up, 5-5 at the 13 minute mark of the third quarter. A few goals by each team made it 7-7 with 9:30 remaining, but Rachel Black connected with 8:40 left. The Cavaliers would come up on top, playing tough defense until the final horn.

FOR THE CAVS

• Isabella Kelty, Lindsay Hindman, and Rachel Black each had two goals. 
• Grace Santee and Melinda Maers each added a goal a piece.
• Rachel Black and Grace Santee led the Cavs with four ground balls each. 
• Kathleen Mendenhall and Rebekah Bargeron split time in the goal, totaling 13 saves. 

The Cavs will host McKendree University on Tuesday, March 14th, at 3pm at Larry Staudt Field.
